Pepe Solla

Chef at Casa Solla* (Poio, Pontevedra)

He began on the restaurant floor, but eventually opted for the kitchen in the Casa Solla business at the turn of the century.

The son of José and Amelia, who set up Casa Solla in 1961, Pepe Solla joined the family business in the late 80s as sommelier, but did not take over the kitchen until the year 2003. Since then Solla Jr. has been renewing the Michelin star earned by his parents in 1980 year on year, modernising the restaurant without forsaking its origins. The chef is one of the founder members of the Galician Association of Sommeliers, and for several years he participated in professional wine-tasting at national level, and won the Galician Sommelier Championship, and also came sixth in the national competition.

Co-founder of the NOVE Group, in addition to Casa Solla, he now also manages the informal restaurant La Radio in Santiago de Compostela, and is about to open a "gastronomy outlet with a greater focus on product" at Vigo's Palacio de la Oliva.
